Samuel Barnard (1684-1762) was a wealthy Massachusetts merchant who moved to Salem, Massachusetts, from Deerfield before 1734. Samuel had many business connections with his extended Deerfield family and other area residents, including this running account renting out an enslaved man called Titus to Mr. Daniel Grant over a four-year period from 1755-1759.
