Town was one of at least three people enslaved by Elijah Williams of Deerfield, Massachusetts. From 1761 through 1765 he had an account at Elijah Williams's store, where he purchased, among other things, a cotton handkerchief, fishing line, shoe buckles, various kinds of fabric and thread or yarn, gloves, and a Jew's harp. He paid for his purchases with fox pelts, tobacco, and cash.
