Ebenezer Arms Day Book

Description:
Ebenezer Arms (1721-1788) of Deerfield and Greenfield, Massachusetts, kept this day book from 1750-1768. Arms was a shoemaker and merchant and his day book entries reflect this. Earlier entries from 1750-1753 record making and repairing shoes, boots, pumps, etc., and some leather work, with most of the customers from Deerfield, Massachusetts. From 1754 onward, the entries are for merchant supplies with mostly Greenfield, Massachusetts customers. The day book is part of a collection of more than 600 account books currently in the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association Library kept by local merchants, professionals, farmers, craftspeople, and business firms from the 17th - 20th centuries.
