Documents relating to the multiple colonial wars between the English and the French and conflicts with the Abenaki and other Indigenous people are preserved in the library of the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association (Box 2, Folder 8-V, #7.) They include a record of an enslaved man preparing timbers for defensive mounts during King George’s War (1744-48.)
