Thomas Wells Note to Ichabod Allis

On September 11, 1742 Thomas Wells (c1678-c1750) of Deerfield, Massachusetts, sent this note informing Ichabod Allis (1675-1747) of affidavits to be taken involving a case Allis prosecuted against Timothy Childs of Text: “Sir This is to Inform you that on the 20th day of this Instant Septr at my house in Deerfield tis proposed Some Affidavits Shall be taken in the Cause between you & Lt. Timo Childs of Deerfield which You prosecuted Against sd Childs about Humphry Negro at which time & place You may be present if you think fit. Thoms Wells. To Mr Ichabod Allis.” The note is in the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association Library archives.
