John Wilson (1782-1869) of Deerfield, Massachusetts, was an agriculturist and inventor active in town affairs. Wilson recorded in this diary his charges to the town for providing poor relief to indigent residents, including African Americans. (Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association Library)
