Seth Daniels (1737-1785) was born in Medway, Massachusetts, in 1737. He was the fourth child of David and Magdalen (Partridge) Daniels. Seth married Unity Thurston in Wrentham, Massachusetts in 1768. The couple lived in Franklin, Massachusetts, and had six children. Seth Daniels died in 1785.
Seth Daniels purchased fifteen-year-old Charles Paine (c1755-1839) (surname also spelled Pain, Payne) from Joshua Harper of Providence, Rhode Island, in 1770. Paine purchased his freedom from Daniels in 1777. Paine long outlived his enslaver, dying in Deerfield, Massachusetts, in 1839.
