William Arms (1724-1794) was one of the many descendents of his grandfather, William Arms, who was among the first settlers of Deerfield. The younger William lived in the Wapping section of Deerfield, just south of the original village. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had seven children who lived to adulthood. In 1761, William paid his cousin Daniel Arms, Jr. (1719-1784) for seven days work by Titus, the man Daniel enslaved from about 1757-1771.
