Thomas Wells (1770-1845) was the great nephew of Ebenezer and Abigail Wells, the Deerfield enslavers of Caesar and Lucy Terry Prince. The house Thomas's parents, Ebenezer and Mercy (Bardwell) Wells inherited from Ebenezer's childless uncle Ebenezer and Aunt Abigail and where Lucy and Caesar lived in bondage still stands.
Dr. Thomas Wells (1693-1744) who appears in the database was Thomas's grandfather. Dr. Wells's father, Ebenezer Wells (1669-1708) was the uncle of the another Deerfield Thomas Wells (1678-1750) who also appears in this database as the enslaver of Peter.
