Jepthah lived in Amherst, Massachusetts and was married to Margaret Sash, who was Indigenous. They worked for, and perhaps lived with, General Ebenezer Mattoon. Jepthah was his valet and usually worked in uniform. The Pharaohs had five children- Sylvia, born about 1797; Dolly T., born circa 1808; Margaret Sash, born about 1812; Adaline, born about 1814; and William, born in 1816.
