Bio

Rose and her husband Pompey were enslaved by the Rev. David Parsons of Amherst, Massachusetts and likely lived in Chicopee, Massachusetts before that. Church records show that Pompey was admitted to membership in the Amherst church in 1758 via a transfer letter from a church there. Rose and Pompey had a son named Goffy, who was baptized in the Amherst church around 1748.
