Sally was the wife of Jupeter Wells, Sr., of Ashfield, Massachusetts. They are both described in Ashfield vital records as being "colored." The couple had four children- Sukey, born in 1803, Joseph, born in 1805-1807, Jupeter, born in 1806, and an unnamed child who was born in 1817 and died in 1819.
Sally died in February of 1821, of "dropsy in brest." She was 37 years old. Her grave lies in the southwest corner of Ashfield's Hill Cemetery in among unmarked graves belonging to the Wells family. Her gravestone reads:
