In the 1820 census his whole family appears as "Free Colored Persons." His surname is given as "Finnimore" and he was over the age of 45. His wife, Orinda Reed Fenimore, is listed in the column for females aged 26-45, and Pedro, Jr. was under the age of 14. Another boy is listed there as well, and a girl appears in the column for females under the age of 14, but their names are unknown. The 1830 census gives the surname of "Finemure."
