From A History of Hatfield, Massachusetts: "At some little distance north was a small one-story house where Primus Easton, a colored man, lived."
Primus appears in three federal census reports for Hatfield, Massachusetts. In 1800 there were four in the "All Other Free Persons" column and in 1810 there were five. The 1820 census also lists five people. Primus and his wife were each over the age of 45, two girls were under the age of 14, and Mary was in the column for females aged 14-26. In her Massachusetts death record, Primus Easton is named as her father.
