Ichabod Nye

Bio

According to Massachusetts Soldiers & Sailors of the Revolutionary War (Vol. 11, pg. 587), Ichabod Nye was from Hadley, Massachusetts.  He was 16 years old when he enlisted in 1779, and was described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a black complexion and black hair.

Military Service

• 1779; Capt. Samuel Cook’s Co., Col. Elisha Porter’s Regiment
• July 14, 1779- Apr. 14, 1780; Col. John Greaton’s 3^rd Regiment; served 9 months
• July 19, 1779; at Springfield, MA under Capt. James Cooper
• Aug. 12-Nov. 15, 1781; private in Capt. Oliver Coney’s Co., Col. Sears’ Regiment; served 3 months, 10 days including 146 miles travel home
