Daniel Alvord

Bio

Daniel was born around 1758 and lived in Northampton, Massachusetts.   In Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War (Vol. 1, pg. 209) he is described as standing 5 ft. 10 in. tall with a black complexion.

A Daniel Alvord married Susanna Judd in Northampton on March 20 or 21, 1783, but this man might have been White.

• Aug. 17, 1777; private in Capt. Oliver Lyman’s Co.; served 7 days; at East Hoosac, MA
• Sept. 20- Oct. 14, 1777; Capt. Oliver Lyman’s Co., Col. Ezra May’s Regiment; served 30 days; at Stillwater, NY and Saratoga, NY
• June 16, 1778; Capt. Thaddeus Cook’s Co., Col. Israel Chapin’s Regiment; enlisted for 9 months; at Fishkill, NY
• June 16 & 17, 1782; Capt. Ebenezer Strong’s Co., 2nd  Hampshire County Regiment; on payroll for 2 days; at Northampton, MA
