Elisabeth was the daughter of John and Elisabeth Abel of Ashfield, Massachusetts. If the dates are correct, she was probably born on May 3, 1758, baptized on February 26, 1773, and married Caleb Sharp, Jr. of nearby Conway later that same year on Sept. 23. She would have been 16 years old. The couple had seven children- John, birthdate unknown, died November 8, 1776; Caleb III, born April 13, 1776; Sarai, born February 13, 1778; William, born February 7, 1780; Dorcas, born March 4, 1782; Solomon, born April 3, 1784; and Joshua, born December 21, 1786.
