Shelburne, Massachusetts vital records lists the marriage of Samuel Thompson to Susannah Spencer on January 16, 1810. They were "both negroes." An 1855 state census for Savoy, Massachusetts records Samuel as "M" for mulatto, age 67, a stone mason. His wife then was Myrinda, who it is assumed was White. The 1865 state census for the same town lists Samuel as age 78, married, and a pauper.
