On December 22, 1796, Juda Paine of Deerfield, Massachusetts married Paul Goff of Southampton, Massachusetts. They had at least five children. Sally was born in 1798, Arandol in 1800, Almond in 1805, Alonzo in 1806, and Rachel was born in 1808. Sally and Arandol were born in Deerfield, and the other children were born in nearby Heath. Paul Goff is listed as the head of household in the Deerfield 1800 census with 4 people in the "all other free persons" column. By 1820, the Goffs had moved to Loweville, NY and the census listed 10 "Free Colored" family members.
